トップ10が公表されて、僕は altmetrics 系のアプリ3つに投票したのですが、見事に外れました。笑

受賞したのは openSNP! のこと。未だ詳しく分かっていませんので、これからサイトを巡回してみようと思います。

当初は Mendeley Binary Battle と云う名称でスタートし、PLoS が参戦して Mendeley-PLoS Binary Battle となった本コンテスト、最終的には the 2011 Mendeley-PLoS Binary Battle と、頭に「the 2011」が付き、来年もやるよ、の意思表示。
今回の Binary Battle、色んな視点で評価出来るのでしょうが、重要なポイントを CTO and Co-Founder の Paul Foeckler が（Facebook で）こう言ってます。
We had two goals: spur innovation in the science ecosystem and send a signal to others that opening up data benefits everyone.
オープンアクセスのムコウ側に何が見えるのか、リポジトリや検索サービスが果たせなかった役割を文献管理サービスがやってのけ、科学者やエンジニアがそれに応えた。
情報をオープンにすれば何が出来るのか、Mendeley（と PLoS）が教えてくれた気がします。
来年のコンテストでは、Mendeley-FigShare Binary Battle を見たいですね。
文献だけでなく、研究に係るデータもがオープンにアーカイヴされ、その情報をマッシュアップしてどんな新しい奇抜なサービスが登場するのか楽しみ。
